Need some help with ice damaged crepe myrtles.

I have three large crepe myrtles which have each had different levels of damage from the ice storm. I'm in North Louisiana so we got pretty heavy ice. Today is the first day without ice on them. But I have been at work so I haven't seen them since this morning.
The one in my front yard just has bent limbs while the trunks just seem to be mostly upright. The second one has some large limbs broken off but a lot of the trunks are sagging. The one outside my back door got it the worst with most of the trucks and large limbs are completely broken off or cracked. It also had a bad aphid attack in 2024 but I was able to treat it.
Obviously, I plan to cut off the broken limbs but I've seen a lot of internet "experts" talking about tying up the bent trunks together to see if they recover their natural shape.
Has anyone had any luck doing this before? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I'd surely give this a try. Nothing to lose.

Can’t hardly kill a crepe, trim it up and it will be fine

When you say "bent trunks"... how bent? How large are the trunks? For the broken... just cut below the break... by summer, you'll have alot of new limbs... cut and train them...

I wish mine would die. I had sprouts popping up for years after I cut mine down. Some were nearly 20 feet away from the stump!

I did it but it takes a long time for them to get their shape back. I have some speaker wire from May 2024 derecho storm across 4 limbs and only recently removed it.

Almost nothing kills a Crepe. It'll be fine after these storms

Cut it off 1 foot from the ground and dynamite the stump
Seriously, I killed a rain tree by cutting it off just above the ground, drilled 4 or 5 3/4” holes about 6” deep in the stump a filled them with salt. It never came back.
