I mean, some say it's over and he's a McDead man walking already, but I do think Verge would love to find a reason to keep him honestly.
So there is still a small chance we can make the tourney with a late run, there really is....a win tonight would not help all that much in that regard but a loss might shut the door. So in that sense for CMM this is IMHO a must win.

I didn't think they were allowed to put conference games on streaming only.
I'm not saying it's not justified, I just didn't think the contract allowed for it.

LSU margin for error now is very small. I don't think 7 SEC wins gets them in the tournament because (1) the non-conf. SOS is weak (2) the SEC is "down" from where it was last year. Eight SEC wins is the mark they have to it to even be in consideration. A loss tonight means they would have to go 7-3 in the final 10 games...5 of which are on the road. Considering McMahon has won 4 SEC road games...in 3.5 years, winning more than 1 road game AND sweeping the rest of their home games (after a loss to MSU) would seem like an insurmountable task.
Tonight is an interesting game. For as bad as McMahon has been, no coach and no SEC opponent has dominated LSU like Jans and MSU. Sure, pretty much every coach and program has been successful against LSU over the last 3.5 seasons, but the matchups against MSU have been totally one-sided. This is the worst MSU team in 4 years. If McMahon...with a complete roster...can't beat this MSU team.....at home, then I think you can close the book on any sliver of remaining hope.

Going 8-5 the rest of the way is probably too optimistic, but god dammit if this team has been very close to getting some really quality wins. They have it in them if they could just finish a game. We could very realistically be 16-4 and ranked right now if we'd just keep our heads in the 2nd half.

Mississippi State, at this point in time, gives the impression of being by far the worst SEC team, having lost five games in a row, 4 of them by blowout margins-- by 24 to Kentucky, 15 to Alabama, 20 to A&M and by 32 AT HOME to Vanderbilt! I know those four are pretty good teams, but if LSU can't beat this team at home tonight I can't see any reason for retaining McMahon for even one more contest.

How depressing.
I’m seeing this sentiment on here more and more which is both disappointing and baffling. I can’t believe there’s even remote talk of a Year 5. ANY OTHER PROGRAM would’ve pulled the plug by now. We’re not a serious program.
