They let those last two games spook them after an otherwise fantastic season.

Was it their decision or KOC? Because if it was their decision KOC needs to hop on these open jobs. Somebody fricked up that situation in Minnesota, seems to be a trend.

Absolutely correct. He did look awful when it counted, but anyone who isn’t blind knew JJ wasn’t a good qb

Whoever made the final decision should go ahead and pack their bags

Full disclosure I did not watch any Vikings games live this season, only some highlights & recaps, and I also do not know their overall roster, talent, cap space etc.

JJ McCarthy certainly looked horrible at times this season, but he did have some good plays mixed in also. Overall I would say only slightly worse than you would expect from a 2nd year QB that missed his entire rookie season due to injury.

Darnold, I did not watch yesterday's game but his stat line looks great! Seems to be a decent guy, I'm happy for him. But he also has has looked very average/sub par at times. He had 25TD/14INT this season and 5 games with 0 TD passes. Last year in the playoffs, against playoff caliber defenses and coordinators, showed who I believe he really is, which is a slightly above average QB that can help win a Super Bowl but likely not going to be the MVP.

Honestly the failure at the end of the season for the Vikings was more on the coach. Going for it on 4th and 2 on the first drive instead of getting points and then it failed and then all the pressure was on Darnold the next drive and the game quickly got out of hand.

I am a Vikings fan and watched every snap this season. People thinking the Vikings would’ve been a contender with Darnold have no idea what they are talking about.

Minnesota had some oline issues last year that were exacerbated by injuries. Interior pass protection was a major issue by the end of the season, which is one of my major reasons why Darnold looked terrible the last two games of the year. They actually used the money saved by not signing Darnold to try to improve their oline, but it didn’t really work. Injuries also continued to be an issue there.

No QB was going to have a lot of success with the Vikings protection issues
