We sent postcards to Catholic family members from the Vatican, Friday after Thanksgiving so Nov 28….my aunt got hers last week in Chicago my parents yesterday..Jan 23…
Mind you it was 3 euro and change, basically $4 for a damn postcard.
From Italy!
Why would this take so long? Even a ‘slow boat’ takes under 14 days to cross the Atlantic. I don’t understand why a postcard would just be chillin somewhere for weeks at a time?
ETA: my expectation honestly was like 7-14 days. I was hoping they’d get it before we got home.

The Vatican mail is supposed to be much faster and more reliable than Italian mail too.

But Europe is sooo much better than the USA!
I enjoy a nice Euro vacay but I do appreciate the conveniences we take for granted here in the States

Like buying Tylenol or Imodium AD at a regular store instead of going to the pharmacy and having to explain your symptoms to a pharmacist, which is how it is done in Germany.

Had same issue. Bought postcards, stamps and mailed them from that trailer thing in the Vatican. They arrived a month after i got back.

Yeah had this experience when i needed cough medicine on a Sunday in Ireland. Had to wait until Monday morning and go to a pharmacy.

Or, maybe just walk in the German pharmacy and order it and pay for it without having to describe any symptoms, like I do here in Germany (provided no prescription is required)?
