There has a been very few ducks of any kind, a complete bust for hunters this year. At 10 am this morning, a hugh flock with tens of thousands passed over the house this morning.

The ducks know about weather

I saw more ducks today than I have all season.
Mostly high flying and not working but gives me hope these last few days of duck season.

Tony Vandemore felt that pressure from Flyway Federation and John Kennedy and let some of his ducks head south

Funny you should mention this. I was on a plane yesterday sitting next to dentist from Savannah. We were shooting the shite about hunting and he said he and a group got back from a cast and blast trip somewhere around Matagorda a week or so ago. He went on and on about all the redheads. Said that was almost all they could kill. Limited the first 2 days exclusively on redheads. The last day they did kill a few teal and pintail to go with them. They also caught some bigass trout..

we have a place on matagorda peninsula (across the bay from port O’Connor); when the redheads are there you can swat them with a tennis racket. But that’s all we ever get, no good ducks

Interesting….so, they were low enough to identify them?

Probably a pretty good educated guess, 80+% of the ducks on the middle coast this time of year are stinking redheads.

Probably so…I wish y’all could send some up my way. At least I’d be seeing something!
