Women’s basketball polls

I know not everyone enjoys watching women’s basketball. I think this team could be special. The new polls came out and Texas is still at number 4 with back to back losses. LSU dropped when that happened to them. Why is Texas still so high? And how are they ranked above an undefeated Vandy??

They are getting a lot of clout for beating both UCLA and South Carolina who everyone thinks are final four teams.

The only decent team vandy has played is LSU.
Texas is 1-1 vs SCarolina and has played other ranked teams.

I enjoy watching women's basketball and just seeing the growth in this team. Why focus on the other teams' rankings at this point? It's only January.

WBB rankings don’t really mean much, especially in January. Just from the eye test, Texas has a (much) better SOS than LSU and has beaten a few Elite 8/Final 4 projected teams already. I don’t agree that they shouldn’t have moved down at all, but these don’t really mean too much at the moment. Kim will have this team rolling by the SECT. Especially now that she has found our point guard.

I will always watch the Lady Tigers when they are good and this team is good. Yeah, all the missed layups and put backs make me cringe a bit, but I can get past it and enjoy the games in context. And yes I think this team can be special too. I think the two losses were absolutely a direct result of the schedule we played prior.
But for me similar to LSU baseball - I'm not watching any other games outside of LSU, but I'll watch LSU every time.

It's the CKM effect. She doesn't play the media's game so they won't give her what is due. Rankings are guesses and gut feelings--nothing more. Just win baby!

Don't start off apologizing for watching WBB I've been competitive all my life and watch all sports.Dont worry about the ranking. Kim is building for the big dance. Just enjoy the season.

If the inside game gets better, it might be very special.
On the other hand that UConn team looks unbeatable.

UCONN does seem unbeatable but Michigan gave us a clue that maybe they aren't when they played them earlier this year and almost beat them. Vandy just beat Michigan by the way so there is another legit win for them.
Anyone else mss when Kim switched 5 at a time? That was fun. I hope to see more Bella going forward.

Kim Mulkey and Bob Starkey are my alltime favorite coaching duo at LSU.
