On the morning of Tuesday, January 13th, a woman was driving down Krouner Road in Nassau when she noticed a dog running around on the side of the street. No owner was in sight, so the woman opened her car door, and let the pup in.

She decided to take it to the vet to see if it was healthy and safe, but the veterinarian found something interesting: the dog had a strange device attached to its collar. They immediately contacted Schodack police to determine the origin.

Turns out, it was an ankle monitor meant to track an inmate on parole or house arrest. The culprit had found a way to remove the device from himself and attach it to a dog collar. Albany County Probation was already aware one of their devices had been tampered with, and realized immediately who the culprit was.

The dog ate him and kept the monitor as jewelry.

And the warden sang, “Come on, somebody, why don’t you run? Ole Red’s itchin’ to have a little fun. Get my lantern, get my gun. Red’ll have you tree’d before the mornin’ comes.”

A bobcat would have been way more fun.

Or a migratory bird.
