Saw in Lester’s PFF thread that the sophomore Hawaii transfer grades out as our best overall non QB player from last season headed into the season, better than players like Pickett, Berry and Weeks (but lower than Leavitt and Landen Clark). I wanted to check out his stats LINK and holy crap.

Slow start to the season but once he got hot? His last 7 games he averaged 22 y/c with 124 yards and 1.6 TDs per game. For reference, Justin Jefferson in 2019 averaged 14 y/c with 103 yards and 1.2 TDs per game. I know it was MAC completion but dang, dude did not have joe burrow and other receivers on the team also had a decent number of catches. I think we got a stud with this one!

Chase 2019 line: 21.2 y/c with 118 yards and 1.3 TDs per game. Which means Harris had 2019 Chase type numbers once he really started playing last year

I thought he’d likely just be a rotational G5 transfer type guy but man he could be a legit stud

PFF is shitty when it comes to players coming from small schools

His tape is electric. Might be the steal of this cycle IMO

Ok and so what do you use to evaluate? His stats or his tape or something? Wha do you rate him coming in? Backup piece or decent starter or elite?

Looks like he struggled the first three games and then just blew up. Also, noticed he’s a California kid which is rare for us.

Think that’s what Kiffin is doing

He might not have a PFF subscription though

Good for him but we’re not on the coaching staff. So how do we parse out who are the big fish we landed or who’s just for depth? Ofc we’ll just see how the season goes but what’s the point of recruiting if we don’t even know who to get excited for hahaha.

“trust BK and his OL expertise” got us some great OL players too huh

Both he and the Boise State safety are my favorite picks.

I want this kid to be great, but all I see is that his "best" competition held him in check. The two big schools, and Last Chance "U"NLV. I will not get Nic Anderson'd again. Wake me up in the fall on this guy.

Fair assessment but also different situation being that NA had a severe injury and missed an entire season before arriving here
