That’s my dad on the far right. His two friends are next to him. They were all seniors at West Monroe High School. The two players on the left side of the picture were LSU players at the time. The image is around 1963.
Mystery solved- Thank you for all helping
From Right to Left-
Richard Jones- Split End 63-66
Mike Sheppard- 63
Charles Van Zile- 63
Earl Gros
Jimmy Field

Jerry Stovall 2nd from left?

This is who AI thinks it is:
quote:
1. Leftmost: Pat Screen (quarterback). Slim build, dark slicked-back hair, mid-20s appearance. Screen was the starting QB but injury-prone; he was a standout from Jesuit High in New Orleans and led the team in passing (22/38 for 194 yards, 1 TD).
2. Second from left: Billy Ezell (quarterback). Medium height, short dark hair, serious demeanor. Ezell was the backup QB who stepped up during injuries (14/43 for 151 yards, 1 TD). He had a similar clean-cut look in team photos.

1. Leftmost (tallest, slimmer build, dark hair) — Likely Jerry Stovall (halfback/DB, #21). He was LSU’s star in 1960–1962, a unanimous All-American in ’62, Heisman runner-up, and known for his versatility. He succeeded Billy Cannon and was a standout on those strong early-’60s teams.
2. Second from left (broader shoulders, confident stance) — Possibly Fred Miller (tackle, All-American in 1962). He was a big lineman who blocked for Stovall in 1962 and went on to NFL success.
3. Center (stockier, big smile, crew cut) — This one strongly resembles Billy Cannon (#20), though he graduated after 1959. Wait—actually, upon closer look at the era and features, it might be a teammate like Earl Gros (fullback, powerful build) or Don Schwab (halfback), but the central position and grin fit Stovall or a key back.?Re-evaluating: The center figure’s build and smile make me lean toward Jerry Stovall being here, but many sources place him as a key figure in such group shots.
4. Fourth (shorter, neat hair) — Could be Moonie Winston (guard/lineman) or another offensive lineman from the 1961–1962 squads.
5. Rightmost (tall, broad, serious expression) — Likely a lineman like Fred Miller or Tom Fazio (another tackle/end from that era).

I don’t know but people sure dressed nice back in those days.

I really wish we could bring back the distinguished gentleman look full time! Hats and jackets for all day. Grocery store run, post office, doctors visit, Home Depot run…etc.

Where are chains, tennis shoes with suits, yoga tight pants and tats at?

Looks like they are getting on a plane?
Flying was big time shite back then and there were actual standards for appearance.

3,4, and 5 are definitely incorrect. So there’s no telling if it’s correct on the first 2.
Far right is Richard Jones, 63-65. The other two didn’t make it past freshman year.

That’s a tough picture. The people who would know are all passed away.

Unfortunately that is a correct statement.

Folks were a lot less obese too.

Don't think so. Stoval didn't have the car doors open ears.

That could be.

How tall was he? My dad was 6’4”. The player on the left is the only one who is near the same height.

Ruffin Rodrigue Sr lives down the street from me. LSU football letterman in 63,64 and 65. I will get him to look at the picture to see if he can identify anyone in the picture. He may not be able to but he is still living a good life.

I’ll send to my dad. He was on that team.
