With all of the crying from Ole Piss and now Clemson whining like bitches, I was wondering if anyone new the line on what is tampering.

I understand that a player cannot be contacted until they put their name in the portal, but one they are in the portal when does the contact period end. Clemson is crying because Ole Piss is trying to "steal" a transfer from them after he signed.

We all know verbal commitments mean shite. Does the legal contact period end when a player signs? Enrolls? Spring practice?

Just curious on what is actually tampering.

Technically if a school or coach contacts a player enrolled and signed to another team and not in the portal, thing is agents are basically the middle man so they can just talk to any player through an agent and it’s technically not tampering.

I believe this is the correct answer.

This is my understanding too.

This is why we need to fix NIL to make it straightforward and less fluid. That would get rid of agents. Make class level or how many yrs eligibility be the pay tier. Like Freshman make up to X and so forth with Seniors being the highest.

Also if you transfer more than once not due to coaching change you only get a certain amount of $$$. That could limit players searching for the highest bidder

If something is locked and someone uses bolt cutters or a crowbar to try to open it then it’s been tampered with.

Coaches talking directly to players.

Like what former LSU coaches heading to OM appears to have done with LSU players while coaching last game.

This is why Ole Miss was quick to blame LSU for something they were actually guilty. IMO

Not saying it doesn’t happen but you would have to be an idiot to actually get caught tampering “directly” with a player now days. The system is setup to be able to easily make contact with their representation. This tampering bs all started with Ole Miss and their threats against LSU because of the coaches being there physically and has taken on a whole new meaning on social media. It’s not an actual enforceable thing or rule how the system is structured currently.

Tampering implies a negative connotation like it’s against the rules or something. I don’t think that’s the right word for what we are seeing.

Teams can contact players agents at ANY TIME. There are zero rules against it. That’s why I don’t see it as tampering. It’s clearly within the rules. Should the rules be changed? Yea, probably so.

Tampering occurs any time Ole Miss has a player enter the portal.

When you really think about it, it makes perfect sense. Who doesnt want to live in Oxford Mississippi? And who doesnt want to play for a slightly above average DC, who has zero HC experience? The only logical explanation is tampering from the hoes.

Signed,

Ole Miss fans and media.

Tampering (in theory) is a useless & unenforceable complaint. Nothing can stop relaying of information (deals) from those connected on both ends.

If you're ole miss, everything is tampering.

If you're LSU, tampering is non-existent & honey badger takes what he wants

So if agents have a never ending green light it would seem as they could always be used as a way to excuse anyone that may be tampering to keep them out of hot water as long as they aren’t just completely stupid about it.

Well if you're referring to it affecting Ole Miss, it's technically known as tamponing.

Can you argue tampering, when are literally paying the coach to have contact with that player.

The coaches in question may be LSU employees but aren't Ole Miss also?

I just don't see a tampering charge against any coach talking to players they still coaching.
