They say the path to winning is no longer stockpiling HS blue chippers

Won’t this fix itself over time? Since NIL is still new, eventually athletes will sign contracts that either keep them on their current team or make new teams pay a fee if they transfer. So, shouldn’t fewer players be switching teams through the portal as more sign contracts straight out of high school? What am I missing?

What am I missing?
One way or another it will

I personally am awaiting for players to start sitting mid game until the school's NIL association wires $200K to an account of their choice and then they will step back onto the field. Every day is a dumber story. Let's just go full retard and let the system burn itself to the ground.

Will they though? Why would they?

There are certain positions I wouldn’t recruit out of high school, especially QB and RB.
If you recruit a 5 star QB you are going to be paying them millions of dollars to sit on the bench for a year or two and the probability they ever play for you is 50/50. The best QBs have all been transfers recently.
Load up on paying for lineman

Are you sure about that? This is obviously what NEEDS to happen but WILL it happen is the question.

Paying a kid $3M+ straight out of High School is just plain idiotic, how much did Michigan pay for Underwood?

I want to see teams institute performance bonuses during games. Would love to see them show a kid's parents in regular seats before the game, then, after he scores a TD or gets a turnover, they show the parents in a luxury box. It will just be the 2020's version of Uncle Luther giving Michael Irvin a $100 handshake on TheU sideline. Everyone can share the video on X and tik tok. Millions of what-to-be influencers can share it. It's what the kids live for.

High School players are cheaper overall. One alternative strategy is to sign 40 high school kids and then find 10-15 high end transfers out of portal. Some successful NFL teams do this with the draft. Then cut the previous years recruits who don't workout and keep the ones that do. It is a ruthless strategy, but it is a option for some teams.
Basically you only really need 53 players or so. Like the NFL. So spend most of your money on the 44 or so best players. The rest are projects and cannon fodder for practice.

I agree on QBs, but disagree on RBs. It is the easiest position to learn and evaluate. I have seen plenty of freshmen RBs light up college football over the years. You can get 2 or more from high school for the price of one transfer. Save the money for a really good QB or DE, etc.
