I have some questions about the military action taken against Venezuela

I haven't been paying too much attention to the ongoing conflict with Venezuela, but I woke up this morning to the news that the US acted militarily against Venezuela and took their president prisoner.
Full disclosure: in general, I am a non-interventionist. I don't like the lives of US soldiers being put at risk for corporate interests. But I'm willing to listen if there is a rational case that can be made for why we are doing this.
I have a son who is active-duty Navy, so I worry about him.
I typically "stand with Rand" on these matters as I believe it is the Constitutionally-ordained job of Congress to say if we need to be going to war or not.
I have a few questions:
I understand that we want to damage the cartels. Will this regime-change action get us any closer to accomplishing that goal? If so, how? I need that to be explained to me.
I'm aware that Venezuela is an oil-rich country. Does this action in any way benefit our domestic producers? If so, how? Is this action something they have been pushing for?
Lastly, we're always told that we should "follow the money." Who benefits the most financially from this action? Defense contractors is the obvious answer, but are their other involved parties making profit from this?

How many cups of coffee have you had this morning, sir?

Too much money in the game, so the outcome will be negligible. Mexico is the key player, not Venezuela.
The incoming administration will protect "cartels" as has occurred for decades.

Way too much thought needed to answer your questions for the most ardent.
I’ll answer for many of them.
You voted for Kamala.

You answered this question yourself.
There is no benefit to the average American.

You seem a bit entitled to “know” when you can look it up yourself.
This back and forth with Maduro has been ongoing for weeks.

It’s called The Monroe Doctrine. The United States of America is the world’s power in the Western Hemisphere and we will not continue to let dictators and foreign influence in the Americas under President Trump. Cuba is next.

I think there’s more to this than just “muh narcotics”.

Explain how putting an end to drug trafficking that will save American lives is no benefit to the”average American.”

You left out Russian and Chinese influence just to our south…
Not really keen on military intervention but I support it more on this side of the world than I do on the other side of the world…

What?
Not a chance in hell.
Voted for Trump all three times and I think he has done a very good job.
That doesn't mean I agree with everything he does.
