That loss costed the athletic department roughly 300 Thousand dollars. Women’s basketball is not worth it. LSU needs to be smarter with funds in this era of college athletics.

Edit:
Not changing the word use mistake. I’ll own it. My math is solid.

Costed...

If you went to LSU, that money would have been better spent in the English department.

I’ve never seen so many people/men upset over a women’s basketball loss, lol. Kim has definitely lifted the expectations of the program.

Some of you are so intimidated by women's sports. Kind of pathetic, really.

You got me on grammar and proper use of costed.

That said, defend the program losing 9 Million a year.

Women’s basketball loses roughly 9 million a year. Divide that by the number of games played. It comes out to roughly a loss of 300K each game played.

Same as a win. Isn’t it mandated by congress to have it? Fudging T@F is what is expensive and no one sees it till championships.

So if they would have won the program still would have “lost” $300k.
Strange thread negatger.

Correct 300K a game is ridiculous win or lose for women’s basketball. The program needs to shed fat or find other ways to generate revenue to support program. Congress requires we have balance of men’s and women’s sports. It doesn’t require over spending on a program.

Kim has revived the program but it has come at a heavy cost.

T@F is crazy expensive but it also has many more athletes under its umbrella.
