Did Ole Miss get Blindsided

Posted by Providince on 11/30/25 at 7:45 pm
Maybe Tuohy from ULM should have been AD instead of Carter...
I am not an insider but seems to me that Lane wants to coach this current Ole Miss team all the way through.
From what people have said on this board, LSU would let him coach Ole Miss through the playoffs.
So if all of that's true then the decision is fully on Ole Miss to either let him and see what happens after the season or fire him.
Just my uninformed observation.
100% no one on this board knows and it's just guessing.

Kage Casey

Per Moscona, we have a silent commit from a tackle and a safety off of a team that's currently in the playoffs.
He's been pretty accurate so far. If true, the most obvious teams are Boise State and ASU.
The Boise fan forums seem to feel that their starting LT Kage Casey is gone.
He'd be a heck of a get.
This is purely economics 101. Supply vs demand. Currently the demand for quality players massively outstrips supply. So much so that massive contracts are being handed out to unproven players that show potential.

The only way to fix this and lower costs is to increase the supply of quality talent.
One easy solution is to increase eligibility from 4 to 6 or 8 years.
The question is, is it too much to expect to be in the 12 team playoff every year?

I believe, yes. Reason is just math. We can only expect 3 SEC teams per year to make it. Some years 4 but can only bank on 3.

SEC: Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, A&M, Ole Miss. And you have to be higher ranked than all but 2 of those teams every year with an SEC schedule.

I don't find that to be realistic for any of the teams on the list, including us. I expect us to have runs of a few years in a row and to be competitive year after year.

IMO
Why does it only show us with 2 x 5 stars when we clearly have 3

Edit: updated now to 3.

The Packers don't have a rookie WR much less a rookie starter.

I wouldn't know, I will have to take your word for it...
Pretty sure Elon loves making the babies, kind of his thing. Line em up.
Michigan collective thanked Larry Ellison and Jolin for landing Bryce Underwood.

Everyone is focusing on Ellison and cannot figure out his connection with Michigan. he did not graduate from there or even attend.

The answer is Jolin. His hot little asian girlfriend is a Michigan fan, possibly grad.

Louisiana is severly short in super billionaires, but we are 100% NOT short of super hot girls that can land billionaires and get them to pony up for LSU.

We need a paradigm shift here. Girls, get your sexy asses out there and start reeling in those Super Booster Sugar Daddies!!!

Recruiting firepower

Michigan collective just thanked Larry Ellison for helping to land Underwood. Ellison has an estimated net worth of over $231 billion. That's more than the net worth of the top 200 richest Louisianians combined.

We may not have the recruiting firepower we think.

I'd rather they put that money, if they have it, into star players.

The best things in life

For me, the best part of winning is going on the opposing teams message boards and watching the meltdown. It's glorious, especially when it happens to Bama.

True. I apologize for that comment. I love our marching band. That was over the line.

This is dead on. I would argue they are the best band in the nation. Hard to compare them however as they are a different animal. More of a dum and bugle corp. What I can say however is the UW marching band is to bands what LSU fans are to college football fans. I think the band has been suspended or been put on NCAA probation multiple times for craziness (Hazing). They have a strict no fatty policy which would mean half of the LSU band wouldn't even be eligible. They are pretty nuts. And the 5th quarter is a sight to behold.

And the way they march, High stepping the whole time. You'd have to be in good shape just to survive their marching style.

Good variety and fresh. The peanut butter cup cupcake is great. When they first opened the cupcakes were a little dry (maybe my bad luck) but now they seem pretty moist and cakey. I'd reccomend them. Their to go box is pretty cool as well.

How much are rankings worth

Posted by Providince on 2/2/12 at 3:48 pm
Here is a list to Rivals top 100 for 2009: LINK
Not many early entrant superstars.
2008 had a better rate of hits.
LINK
BTW, Andre Luck was #68 and was a 4 star.

Here are the rankings of how rivals rated each draft class in 2008
LINK
and in 2009
LINK

While the 2009 class shows Bama and LSU #1 and #2 the other top ranked teams are all over the board.

I see people getting all worked up over these rankings but honestly, has there been ANY evidence that these rankings directly correlate to on the field and programatic success?
Also wrong Packer assistant. I think a lot of the credit should go to Jeff Jagodzinski. He was the OC for GBP when AR was a rookie. He then left as HC for BC where he took Matt Ryan and made him a great college QB. He was fired from that job because he interviewed in the pros. Stupid move by BC as they suck again. He also has some very good experience with the Zone blocking system.

Here is where things get weird. He was the OC for Tampa Bay for about 9 months with Rookie Josh Freeman. He was replaced before ths first game by the QB coach. He then went to the UFL where he was fired this year so the the chairman of TD Ameritrade could play at being a coach.

He is also a former LSU product I think as a grad assistant. I doubt he gets a shot and has job hopped but he has an interesting background as an OC.

As far as Tom Clements, Mike McCarthy runs all of the GB QB schools as he calls them and calls of the offensive plays. I don't think we want Tom here at LSU.
