Nebraska should be looking to copy what Indiana did. If Indiana can do it, so can Nebraska

Yup. Rhule is 5-7 / 7-6 / 7-6 in his 3 years. Year 4 will be huge for the program. The last time they won more than 7 games was 2016 at 9-4. Was also their last ranked win beating #22 Oregon early in season.

Need better line play and physicality. Line play killed us all year.

The move to the big ten has been quite unkind to them. They thought they would roll in and dominate, they didn’t, fired a great fit for their program who won 70% of their games after he got them to a NYD bowl, and have struggled mightily since.

Credit Eichorst, in his second year at Nebraska, for removing the emotion of the regular-season-ending victory from his decision on Pelini. Credit him for recognizing that, if Nebraska expects to reach its desired position in the Big Ten and beyond, it's not about beating Iowa.

Since that day, Nebraska is 1-10 v. Iowa, they have hired 4 coaches, have beat 1 ranked team, and played in 4 bowls reached by these coaches chosen to establish their dominance.

firing Pelini wasn't the problem.

If you watched any of Nebraska during that time you'd see they didn't consistently compete with the upper tier teams.

Like Richt at Georgia who had a really good record but got to another level with Kirby.

Nebraska's problem is that they just haven't hit a homerun on their coach

I would say it stopped when they moved to B10. Their recruiting region changed. Lots of TX players didn't want games far away from home. In B12 most of the games were drivable (if parents from TX). Not so much in B10.

But now with NIL, money is most important mostly. If they can pay then they’ll get players in key positions. Choosing wisely will be key.

Fair assessment. They weren't making money in the B12.

lol. They clearly have big time issues attracting and developing any talent. Since firing Pelini, they recruited and had zero consensus all Americans from Lavonte David in 2011. They’re not failing to hit home runs with their hires, they’re striking out in historic fashion. They don’t get to bowl games as often as they stay home, and they never have nationally elite players anywhere.

I thought Emmett Johnson would've been an All-American but I guess not.
