What does LSU do with the game used balls at the end of the every season. From what I gather Nike send a certain number of game balls at the start of every season. I know that you can purchase brand new team issued balls from BigGame.com…. But I’m wondering about the actual games used balls directly from lsu. Is there a list to get on to be able to purchase ?

They’re donated to impoverished areas like, Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan, and Chalmette.

You used to be able to buy them online when the schools would auction them off.

I know that every year, a few weeks before fall practice starts.. They might come more often now, this was back in 2001 when I got to experience it, but the 18 wheeler is loaded down with products from Nike. Shoes, clothes, uniforms, helmets, cleats, balls, mouth pieces, wrist bands, other type of arm bands, etc. I am not 100% sure, but I think Nike takes back the old balls. I am sure LSU can keep whatever they want and maybe they keep some to sell.. If you can't find them now, wait until it gets closer to fall practice to see if they are available.

Not sure about LSU, but I have been buying the used gameballs from Texas high school football for a while. They are basically unused leftovers at about 30 percent of the cost of new from Amazon. The only drawback is the colored laces or insignia of the high school team printed on the ball. It's the cheapest way to buy nice leather footballs for my son to practice kicking.

I would guess most are kept and used in practice until they are worn out and then sent back to Nike to recycle.

They don’t use all “new” balls for games. Balls chosen by each team go into the Official’s Room for approval.

This isn’t baseball.
