Not a duck hunter, but one thing I need for deer hunting is a transport sled for hunting public.

A guy I met showed me his sled for transporting deer and gear in and out of the woods. He used the same type of sled that duck hunters use for holding decoys and gear.

Do yall have any recommendations?

Thanks OB

Do you have to bring the deer out or can you clean it where it drops? A good pack and a couple of pillow cases make it a lot easier than dragging a sled.

amazon

Guy at our camp uses one of these or some variant of and it works for sliding deer out through a pine thicket and across boggy spots

I’ve already looked into these prior to getting a side by side with a hitch I put a rack on. Amazon is loaded with options, just looked. “Deer Sled for Game Dragging” should hook you up.

I have an eberlestock x2 but I did skin a deer I killed in MO on the ground. Was not fun and was strenuous on my back.

My plan is to field dress it and drag it out via sled.

I found out that there’s a skinning rack at campground and I wanted to use it when I kill one.

Just get a cart with big wheels. I did it with a sled once, it was miserable. A mile with plenty of hills and random surfaces, the sled sucked. Unless you plan to drag out in 4 inches of snow, I guess.

A cart with wheels is much better for what you want to use it for. Dragging a jet sled on hard ground for more than about 50 yards ain’t worth a frick.

I have a buddy I hunt with that has one. Awesome for dragging deer out. He also uses it as a “gut bucket” when cleaning the deer.
