Recent issues in different cities- are these minor or major?

Bathroom doorknobs (both) do not lock
Cold water faucet on tub/shower does not work (one bathroom)
Eta- superhosts with great reviews

Minor issue if you have the whole place to your group.

Depends on if the hot water is too hot to shower. Not being able to shower at all would be a major issue.

Eh, I’d say somewhat depends. While not an actual issue as far as just looking at it, cause could be from an electrical issue that could be a more major issue. I wouldn’t want to be dealing with someone’s oven that may have an internal electrical issue while I’m using it. If it’s just a control panel issue, it also shouldn’t take anything at all to get it fixed. So why not fix it?

Maybe I’m petty but if I’m paying for a place to stay it better be as advertised.
Of the things you listed the cold/hot water issue would be my highest complaint. Locking bathroom doors could be a bigger issue if staying with others.

Minor issue
Weird and colorful whigs hanging from the middle of the bed frame, underneath the bed, in each bedroom
Major issue

Minor if water temp is fine, major if it only sends out scalding hot water

quote:same reason to report/claimed no one has said anything/it is a 4 bedroom 2 bath large house and was a multifamily situation for us with a 2 year old who can open doors and doesnt understand why they shouldn't. We made it work but it was slightly inconvenient. Big laughs when a wife opened door on hubs pooping and he screamed no, no,no.
Bathroom doorknobs (both) do not lock
quote:hot was definitely too hot. Also claimed no one had said anything yet there was a shut off valve turned off (claw foot tub). Surely your cleaner would have said something?

We will continue to stay at airbnbs because of ability to hang out and visit multigenerational but it would be great of they reinvested in upkeep. Trade off of living room and dining room/kitchen offsets stripping beds or taking out trash. We keep the place clean while there anyway.

Major issue is the fees that they charge. Really a minor issue to figure out how to get to the host directly to cut out the fees!

The major issue is the issues need to be fixed. /story

The last one I stayed at we got in late. Woke up the next morning and no coffee. I didn’t know how pissed I should be. I kind of expected there would be coffee, because what kind of hoodlum wouldn’t provide coffee to guests, paying or not? To avoid that situation, I no longer do Airbnb.

If you knew these things didn’t work, would you not have rented it for this price?

I'm a plumber. While there are a couple of possibilities for their tub/shower combo issue, the most likely culprit is the cartridge is faulty. If the hot water is scalding hot then the pressure balancing mechanism has probably gone bad inside it. That would be the first thing I would check. Simple enough to fix and zero reason they should be putting a repair like that off if they are operating an AirBnB.
For those of you who are old timers, I'm sure yall remember the days of someone flushing the toilet while you were in the shower and you getting scalded
That pressure balancing mechanism is how they eventually fixed that problem.

Why don't you just stay at a hotel?
Like normal people.

Major
Friend rented an apartment in London, they rented the entire apartment. The 2nd day the owner showed up saying his plans had changed but he would still let have the master bedroom and he would take the other bedroom.
They moved to a hotel and paid him for one night.
