“Finally, we need to address revenue, by applying commonsense business practices. Negotiate media rights with one voice. Unifying these rights would give the sport the bargaining power it needs, just like the NFL and NBA have. Right now, college football delivers roughly twice the audience of the NBA but pulls in only about half the media revenue – the sport is “under-earning.” That centralization would create a multiplier of revenue that would then be distributed proportionally (not equally) across conferences.

But you were honky dory with an AD (Woodward) throwing away multiple millions on wild buyout clauses in his tenure after doing the same at his last job.

Tell me if the buyout for the current coach is any better.

The issue is that the NBA and NFL are each one entity of comparable teams.

College football isn’t. ABC wants do pay for SEC games. Fox wants Big 10.

Nobody wants to pay extra for conferences nobody wishes to broadcast anyway. If Landry doesn’t think the SEC is getting enough for their rights take it up with the SEC commissioner. Attaching SEC football to ACC football diminishes the value of the SEC

This is about USL and Tulane and McNeese and on and on and on.

Landry did not negotiate the package with Kiffin. In fact, he criticized it.
"Jeff Landry criticized high-priced coaching contracts that could lead to large buyouts."
But, you knew that and still are attempting to justify the stupidity of these universities.

I said nothing about Landry, just pointing out that Woodward did exactly what every university does.

Is it stupid, probably. Are you gonna get a top-level coach not doing that? Probably not. So, there is the justification.

But you probably knew that, or maybe you are just repeating things you read without any awareness of why it is that way..

Self promotion is without question his No. 1 priority. And he seems to have trouble reading situations properly and even when his ideas may have merit he seems to misapply them either in the improper context or time. It's uncanny how bad he is at it.

He is an even more stupid version of Trump.
I’ve been a Republican for many decades and have not been this embarrassed since Nixon. The leadership of the party has gone to crap. Kennedy from La is one of the few good guys on the Hill. Mike Johnson has lost the values that put him there.

you don’t want college football to turn into college baseball where we’re the only conference that matters…
