Hey board, going across the pond to watch my first Arsenal game in person.

Plan on arriving January 23 departing on January 27.

Need recs for tickets, travel to and from the game as well as much sees.

Been to London before and did the big bus tour so won’t need to go sightseeing but want to check out some places. This is a solo soccer trip so open to suggestions.

For tickets I would recommend one of the hospitality packages. We went to the Bayern Champions League match back around Thanksgiving and it looked like the best way to guarantee tickets. It’s a little pricey but you get some extra perks and the seats are pretty good. They’re the equivalent of club seats here.

It was a weeknight for us and we had a lot going on so we didn’t make a full day of it. We arrived via the Holloway Road tube station about 3 hours before kick, bought a few things in the team store, then went in as soon as the doors opened for the club level. Be mindful of lines to enter as they still do the old pat down instead of walking through scanners.

The Holloway Road station was closed for an hour post game so we walked to the Highbury station to travel back. It was crowded but aside from having to wait for the Bayern fans to be ushered through we were on our way in no time. The baws in the Arsenal thread will have some recommendations on nearby pubs and other things to do.

ETA: I bought the Club 1886 ticket/hospitality package. LINK

You have to be a member to buy Arsenal tickets unless you purchase one of the hospitality packages offered by the club or by 2 authorized 3rd party company . There is a decent chance this game will be sold out of packages and expect to pay $600 plus per ticket.

Your best bet is to join one of the clubs for tickets.

For a memorable meal, head to Dishoom in covenant gardens. Remarkable. Also, Chinatown for a proper Chinese meal.

If you find yourself in Liverpool, stop by SuSu’s New Orleans Kitchen, say Geaux Tigers, and gumbo is on me.

Definitely recommend traditional London fare like kebabs and masala.
