Meaningless Bowl Games….

Watching the WKY and Southern Miss game and someone was put in an aircast and hauled off on a cart. Hopefully his college career isn’t over but it got me thinking… what’s the point in these bowl games that aren’t playoff games? Maybe adopt something similar to the Pro Bowl and make these “bowl games” more skill activities. I know you can still get hurt the the chances are a lot less.

It’s not meaningless if you’re a player wanting to win.

You ever been to some of these useless bowls? Empty.
I remember being in the military, and leadership would come through with tickets to the Who gives a shite Bowl...and we all would be like nah. Tickets free too!

What’s the point of playing football? What’s the point of any of it? It’s all “meaningless” if you’re not entertained.
Most of us who enjoy football actually enjoy these games because it’s more football. We will soon be without the sport for many months. But these bowl games are a way to prolong us the inevitable.
For the players, it’s a reward for winning games during the regulwr season. Post-season games are actually intended to be a reward. Are there too many bowls? Maybe. But we can still be entertained. If you’re not entertained, don’t watch. We don’t have to get rid of something just because you don’t see the purpose. Others clearly do. And if at any po8nt, enough people don’t, then the problem will take care of itself. The bowls (or some of them) will go away. Simple supply and demand.

What's the meaning of life?

Injuries happen in football.
Was Southern Miss's last game of the season meaningful? How about their 11th game of the season? They weren't playing for anything then were they? Would you and the rest of the sheep and just parrot that a bowl game has no purpose. Are only the first four games for every team each season meaningful? If you're a college athlete on college team and your team has a game scheduled, you play the damn game

By your logic 80% of the college football teams shouldn't play any games.. since 80% of them have no chance of ever making the playoff...
If the bowl games are so "meaningless' why are the rest of the games not viewed as the same?

What is football if not played? Anything else is metaphysical ersatz which is meaningless.

By your logic, LSU should have ended their season half way through.
Why play any meaningless games? Why only meaningless bowl games?

For most in these games, this is their last game. After that real world starts. Some actually love playing the game and the school they attend. Shocking I know.

My point being…. Don’t do away with the bowls but have an alternative like skills, player/fan interaction, etc

That Pro Bowl shiitt is pathetic

Is that the game with a female commentator?

Give it a rest. Game ain't meaningless. Just you.

You are totally wrong. These bowls with group of 5 teams are more enjoyable to watch. The teams want to be there. Few of there players chicken out. Were as power 4 teams that play in bowls other than the playoffs many players don’t so up. Ones that do don’t really care. Watch the New Orleans bowl and enjoy the game for what it is. How many LSU players sitting out.

Another retard. Bowl games have been in existence over 100 years. Most kids that get hurt in Bowl games will never have long, meaningful careers in the Not For Long league. I mean, why play any game at all?
