We have amicably and mutually agreed that Brooks Koepka will no longer compete in the LIV Golf League, following the 2025 season. Brooks is prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home. We appreciate the significant impact he has had on the game and wish him continued success, both on and off the course.
Brooks Koepka will be stepping away from LIV Golf. He is deeply grateful to Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Scott O’Neil, and the LIV Golf leadership team, his teammates, and the fans. Family has always guided Brooks’s decisions, and he feels this is the right moment to spend more time at home. Brooks will continue to be a huge supporter of LIV Golf and wishes the league and its players continued success. Brooks remains passionate about the game of golf and will keep fans updated on what’s ahead.

I assume the PGAT will welcome him back with open arms

I imagine they will still enforce the 1 year suspension since his last LIV event (which was August 2025). He’ll be back on PGA Tour next fall or by 2027

Oddly enough this was the selling point for LIV when it started, at least according to them. Less golf, more time for family

The irony is thicker than thieves

I don't blame him. He is a majors guy anyway.

What a weird statement by PGAT

It's actually not if you remember what PGAT golfers have said in the past about LIV golfers.
Basically, if they want back in, they have to go back to Q School, then Korn Ferry, and play their way back onto the PGAT. Plus give up all the money they got in LIV. That's what players have said.
Now I doubt the reality will be that harsh, especially if more guys try to come back, but it's not just going to be "Welcome Back, here's your card."

Yup, when all it took was playing 15 tournaments to keep your tour card.
It was always all about money.
It was always all about money.

Has to suck when your exhibition league loses a top draw exhibit. Hope they don’t send some dudes with bone saws to Khashoggi him.

I don’t think the PGA needs or wants him back that bad. If I’m the PGA, I make him earn his card back.

Brooks made it very clear that it was the 9 figure signing bonus

Think that was DJ not Brooks, at least when he first signed
quote:
What I've had go through the last two years on my knees, the pain, the rehab, all this stuff, we realized you need a little bit more time off," Koepka said. "I'd be the first one to say it's not been an easy last couple years and I think having a little more break, little more time at home to make sure I'm 100 percent before I go play in an event and don't feel like I'm forced to play right away. That was a big thing for me. It was just ... the burnout part of it. You're not doing a month on the road anymore."
Yeah two years later he said he did it for the bag. But at the beginning of all this it was the company line of “less time playing, more time off, growing the game” all that bullshite. Everyone knew it was for the bag but no of them wanted to admit it. It was alway going to be compulsory appearances, the same number of tournaments played and more international travel.

The players as individuals truly hold no real value to a tour outside of Tiger

Yeah, but he still played a full schedule, even though less than the PGA. Kills the dumb PGA shill talking point doesn't it?
He has some family issues that require his full attention. I don't expect him to play golf anywhere in 2026.
