Berry is not an every down back. So I don’t understand the problem berry would have with him coming potentially. They would make a great one two punch. Thunder and lightning sort of thing. The money can’t be a problem with Berry because Lacy got like 21 touchdowns. I know he doesn’t expect to make the same amount as Lacy. Plus I’m pretty sure Lacy didn’t sign with ole miss for a bunch of money. He proved it and now is about to get paid. The same could happen for Berry next year. Help me understand this.

You aren't paying both of them their asking price though. Nobody doesn't see them as being a good fit, but is it cost prohibitive?

According to whom? Lester Earl? Berry had limited touches and ran behind a shitty OL all season. He showed glimpses of how electric he can be with the ball in his hands and we never utilized his elite pass catching ability. If he gains about 10 lbs to handle the work load, I don't see why he can't be an every down back.

I don’t think he is. I can’t see him carrying it 30 times against Bama

Why do people think you need to carry it 30 times against Bama to be "an every down back"

All an every down back means is you can run the ball in any situation; are a pass catcher and can pass block. This doesnt mean you need x amt of carries to be an "every down back"

Berry is already that

Nobody needs to carry the ball 30 times in a game against anyone. This isnt 2009 Les Miles offense here.

You have multiple backs on every team for a reason, get fresh legs in there as much as you can.

Just what I have seen each back do. Berry is the better talent. Noway i would let him walk for Lacy. Sorry just not doing it. Whatever Lacy did at Ole Miss Berry can do and better. I know 45 TDs Lacy had. I'm telling you Berry is better in the same offense.

My opinion.

Why would Berry want to walk from a lane kiffin offense. He’s just a freshman and Lacy is gonna leave after next year. So I don’t get it maybe if berry and Lacy was in the same class I could understand but their not

You need to wrap your head around how these kids think in this era

Their productivity doesn’t matter to them. Berry was the #1 RB recruit in the country. You have to pay more to keep him on the roster

He has no issue with Lacy coming aboard. Berry just wants more money to stick around.

All these kids do.

Berry chose OM, Lacy chose LSU. I am of the opinion that they both would have had very similar results behind the same OL. Don't get me wrong, I'd take him in a heartbeat as an addition, but not a swap.

WE NEED OL way more than a 2nd back that will have Berry production behind a untrained / unskilled OL.

As long as the funds used to acquire Lacy don't interfere with OL budget it would be nice.

Well if Lacy bolts for LSU for $2m then Ole Miss will almost certainly turn around and offer their $1.8m to Berry. So it would force LSU to have to fork up a lot of dough for RBs. Thats not even to mention where does Durham fit in all this? The way I see it, LSU is going to lose one of Berry or Durham.

This is something yall don’t understand about sturdy workhorses:

Kewan Lacy 274 carries, 2 fumbles

Harlem Berry 101 carries, 2 fumbles

Don’t know why y’all want to keep doing this.

What complication? He'll paid and so will Lacy. You should be asking Durham this. He's probably not going to be on the roster next year. Berry is only a sophomore and still gets paid. Durham is a junior who will not want to share the load with someone in a money year to the NFL.

Given the 2026 schedule, which now includes nine (9) SEC games, we actually need to try to get both; it'll be tough for one back to get thru that gauntlet without getting nicked/missing a game or two along the way.
