Hankton had the Co-OC title. He wasnt calling plays and probably wasnt involved in the gameplanning. Sloan got canned and Atkins took over as head OC.

The disrespect people give Chris Kiffin is amazing
Is he SEC DC caliber? No. But this guy has coached position groups in the NFL at multiple stops. Same in the SEC. And has been a Co-DC in college.

He’s the Co-DC of an SEC team. By your own admission, he isn’t getting disrespected when someone says he shouldn’t have the Co-DC title

Remember Blake Baker is probably only here for a short time longer. This sets up his brother to move into the DC role when Baker moves on. Keeps continuity if that happens.

Actually, I think it's more of a situation where he's put there to learn from Baker. Not the he couldn't be a DC on his own, but we all know Baker is leaving eventually, and continuity wise , promoting Kiffin would be the easiest route.

Coach Chris Kiffin can help Coach Baker better game plan for running QBs. That would be a bonus for the defense to become formidable in 2026.
