Legitimate question; cornerstone pieces seem to be in place with Coach, QB, and Kicker. This draft class has been impressive. Some credit seems in order no?

Sure

I’ve given him a lot of shite for where we’ve been. Only fair to give him a little love for the signs of life we are showing

We could win the SB next year and it would still be..."we won in spite of loomis"

He got the right coach who seems to be buying the correct groceries and cooking the fans a delicious meal.

Fans going to eat next season some full helpings.

Next season, we all get dessert.

He absolutely deserves credit but most of the posters here will never give it to him.

Loomis does what the HC wants. I don't think he over rules what the HC wants in players.

I’d give him credit for Moore

I’d have to imagine it was Moore who mostly had the hand in picking Shough.

See, here is what is bothering me. Gayle forced Loomis to fire DA. If it were strictly on Loomis, Dennis would still be coaching this team.

Do you also give him credit for Payton?

He should definitely get credit for those 2 coaching hires, and also the blame for Allen.

And he does have input into the draft and free agency, but he collaborates with his coaches and the rest of the staff, so he does also deserve some credit and blame for roster moves as well.

during the season.

He was still going to fire him, but let him finish out the year. Gayle said not good enough, which I agreed with her on that.

Hiring Allen in the first place was not good enough and was by far the biggest mistake Loomis has ever made.

I think the players, through Gayle forced this by convincing her to fire Allen. But now that the rebuild is on, Loomis is actually making some good moves. The 2025 draft has been outstanding. Hopefully the 2026 draft continues that trend.

Hired Moore, drafted Shough.

If I remember correctly, no coach worth anything wanted this job or the aggervation that came with New Orleans - The Fans, The Franchise, the money grubbing female owner, aging roster, salary cap and the endless infractinos against the organization by the NFL.

Moore, was a young man, in his prime, trying to get his frist chacne.
You can say Mickey Loomis, made the "right decision", but in reality The Saints Organization was desperate and New Orleans was the last place on anyones radar.

So yeah, he desrves some credit.

Was he though? Because the way he talks about Dennis im not sure he would ever be willing on his own accord. He genuinely seem to think he was part of the solution

Just like I need to see more before I jumped on the Loomis hate train, I also need to see a bit more from him before im ready to credit his moves. The last few years did some serious damage to his credibility.

He also made some nice trades lately:

Marshon Lattimore and a 5th for a 3,4 and 6
Luke Fortner for Khalen Saunders
Rashid Shaheed for a 4th and 5th
A 4th and 7th for Devaughn Vele
