Kevin Smith to LSU status?

As soon as Kiffin was hired it seemed a foregone conclusion he was bringing his long time RB coach. After he wasn’t on the first plane to BR I figured it was to not run off Frank before NSD. Then all the stuff came out about Frank “having no clarity on his future” and Kevin Smith being one of the only remaining Ole Piss coaches not signing an updated term sheet and it had me thinking any announcement would just wait until after the season officially concluded. Well that didn’t happen because Frank to Ole Miss was made official which means Kevin Smith is out but there’s still no word of us even having talks with him, or interviewing other RB coaches, or him having talks with any other team either. Kinda seems like if he’s not a lock to LSU, he hasn’t informed Lane of that lol

I agree. Me, you, and everybody believe he’s coming. I just thought the radio silence was interesting compared to something like our DL coach search

That’s exactly why you should have no concern. Couple what you haven’t heard from LSU and what you have heard and seen from Ole Miss and you’ve got your answer. Timing is the only question at this point.

Well Golding did hire a rb coach and OC so he doesn’t really have a position after the playoffs. Jan 2 he will be at LSU after UGA dismantles ole miss

If the stars align they get dog walked by Georgia, season ends in Louisiana(poetic), Kevin Smith to LSU, Chambliss/Lacy and whoever else hit the portal, and their fans crash out because they finally have to consider what next year looks like for them

He will be at LSU. That said, I don't think he's as tied to Lane as others think. He talked to a few different schools and his price tag is hefty because of Lacy likely following him. He did leave Lane after the 2022 season to go to Miami. Wouldn't be shocked if he's only at LSU for one year. They will likely have to justify his price tag with a few other titles if so and Lacy is only around for one year barring injury.

Pretty obvious unless some crazy promotion comes out of left field somewhere so I guess nothing is concrete.. but it's pretty obvious imo. His son was at lanes intro PC.. no interviews w anyone.. no updated mou from ole miss.. Smith's was the only one a year old from what I read..Pete Golding avoiding the?s and hiring Frank tells us all we need to know

Since Frank Wilson is going to OM that seems pretty likely he’s coming here. Wilson aint going to take an analyst spot.
