AirTag in Gunsafe?

I’ve heard people say that a heavy safe will keep your normal meth-head from putting it in their car and taking off.
However, I’ve read here if somebody wants it they will cut it out of the floor and take the safe and cut tue door later.
Is there anything that I’m missing about putting an apple AirTag into a gun safe to where it could be tracked when it finally lands at the cutters home?

Apple now makes air tags alert people if it’s very near them for an extended period of time and they aren’t the owner of the AirTag. It’s basically an anti stalking thing they have built in. Apple even notes that the AirTag isn’t really for tracking stolen things, it’s for lost things
Basically the thief will be alerted that there is an AirTag and it will play an audible sound. They can then find it and remove/discard it. There are some videos online showing how to remove the speaker, but really all that would do is slow them down a little in finding it to remove it since there is only so many places you can hide it on a safe.
Then if you want it inside the safe, it might not even really work at all depending on how thick the safe is. It’s a very very low power Bluetooth and wouldn’t penetrate really any significant thickness of metal.
Your best bet to actually stop theft would be to screw the safe to foundation or the floor from the inside of the safe. Someone breaking into your home won’t be able to move a heavy arse safe bolted to the floor and will have to leave it.

Brothers was bolted to floor and they used his sawzall to cut it loose.
My nieces had many friends and it was one or more of them that stole brothers gun safe. Best way to keep it safe is to keep it out of sight and make sure your kids keep their mouths shut about its location. Mine is in our garage sitting in a corner that’s hard to see.
One reason I don’t sell shite online to be picked up, keep garage door closed most days and have good neighbors.

Wireless cameras have gotten so cheap you can hide one out that just points to toward the safe, if anyone gets near it you get an alert on your phone.

Do you have cameras at your entrances? That would deter most thieves. They’re cheap and work really well.
AirTags also only work if apple products are around it. I know most people do have iPhones and whatnot but many don’t.

Ring camera on spotlights outside will deter some thieves. Had some thugs walk up my driveway at 3 in the morning a few years ago. Lights popped on and they fled. One was carrying g a pistol in one hand. Cameras inside the house as well. My safe weighs 1000 lbs empty and probably another 700-800 lbs with all my shite in it.

I'm of the opinion that if the safe itself is not enough of a deterrent (assuming it's a decent one and not a "locker"), then the thieves will get what they want anyway. But Your average meth head burglars are not going to get in your safe, unless they have hours/days to work at it. Cameras resolve that problem. An actual safe heist is probably an inside job.
