So much about the game has major issues. Idk where to even start. We’re all going to keep watching, and viewership will keep breaking records because football is crack but doesn’t mean the sport can’t fix a ton.

For one…..we’re 5 mins into the 2nd half and we’re at our 4th round of commercials already.

Reviews on every questionable play. Disrupts the flow of the game.

Horrifying officiating

ESPN/Disney influencing every important decision.

Portal/NIL dysfunction.

NFL is vastly superior. Outside of officiating, they’ve perfected the viewing experience.

TV timeouts are absurd. Team punts with 2:10 in half. 3 minute timeout. Run 1 play. 3 minute timeout. Calls a few timeouts in the 2 minute offense. Another 2 commercial breaks. It's not nearly as bad at home as it is when you're in the stadium.

TV is its own entity. Blame Disney.

It’s bad, but go watch old games like in the offseason. It’s been the same for decades. We just have the views to see how bad it is.

Boeing as hell. I haven’t watched much of it in at least 10 years.

The bolded word is part of the problem.

It used to be more about institutions and tradition. Now it’s just something to be consumed, like any other consumer product.

This isn’t really new, but we went off the deep end in the past few years. Examples of this are all over the place. More pointless bowl games, playoff expansion, gaudy stadiums, conference championships that make no sense but will never go away because they bring in revenue.

And it’s not stopping because everyone involved (including fans) are incentivized to treat it like a product.

College football is more enjoyable during the regular season when there are multiple games on and there is a chance one of them won't be on commercial at any given time.

Someone never attended a game that was broadcasted at 2:30 by CBS
