New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has signed kicker Charlie Smyth from the practice squad to the active roster and placed wide receiver Devaughn Vele on Injured Reserve.

Congrats to our favorite Irishman for earning the kicking role to finish the season

Vele showed enough to justify the cost imo

I guess we’ll see more of Dante Pettis and Kevin Austin. Maybe we can find out if they’re in the plans moving forward. Pettis was a 2nd round pick of the 49ers once upon a time but has bounced a bit. Austin has good size and sub 4.5 speed

Just an added note... Tipton is questionable for Sunday

Everyone's favorite player... Cesar Ruiz... is out

He's shown enough promise with 2 years left on a cheap deal, he carries some value.

I'm actually curious, the former 2nd round NE Patriots wr we traded for... We seem high on him makes me think wr is not as thin as we'd think

Well I think it got as about good as it was going to get with back-to-back wins over the Panthers and Bucs.

I mean considering how things were going up until the last two games.

The good news is we can go over our projected season win total in these next two games because the Jets and the Titans aren't worth a crap. But on the other hand, if we manage to lose one or both of those games, then our draft selection spot would be better.

I would not be rooting for that to happen but if it did then that's when you find the good in a loss after the fact.

It's not but even if Olave signs we still need a #1 especially the way Tyler can sling it. May not be this year but I bet .50 on it the next year.

Will Sherman plays decent and we trade Ruiz to a center-needy team in the offseason.

The Saints are starting Evan Hull and Kevin Austin Jr and fans expectations of them winning this week. Wild

Evan Hull has a little juice. But we are definitely scraping the bottom of the depth chart. Estime should get some time. Hines will be #3 I guess. I don’t know him

This would be a good game to bet the under on.

Barring some unforeseen special teams and defensive touchdowns, I don't know.

We are playing the Jets... who are in full on tank bowl mode... at least we're showing signs of life

The Jets are better at almost every position other than QB

The Jets are bad that's why. The public also is overestimating the Saints winning by margin

Also the Jets aren't actually better anywhere. Breece Hall is better than our rbs but he hasn't been any good in a while. The receiving options both ways are mostly a bunch of guys but Olave is clearly the best of the bunch. The Saints D is much better.
