Budget and co-witness expectations?

Not sure what the mounting solution they use on the APX is but Holosun has options with the RMR footprint that’ll be good enough for the vast majority of people. Vortex is starting to have options too now and their warranties are great.
Consider getting one with an enclosed emitter if you plan to conceal carry it daily or run it hard.

Vortex CCW enclosed is what I ended up with for my p365. I prefer cowitness like I have with my Romeo zero compact, but the price and warranty were hard to beat.
The vortex defender ccw I had on my wife’s pistol had the 14hr shutoff time. When they upgraded them to 10 minute shut off time, I sent it back and they gave me a new one under warranty. Hard to beat that kind of service.

What kind of APX? The OG APX Toblerone? The APX A1? Or the APX compact?
Is this going to be used just for range plinking or serious carry option?
If you have the A1, it just uses a plate system.

I’m a big fan of the EPS/EPS Carry series from Holosun.
Looks like the APX requires an optics plate. Basically an adapter from whatever they machine into the top of the slide to whatever pattern your red dot uses. Calculated Kinetics makes good optic plates. Don’t buy the cheap ones off amazon. They are dubious at best, and you want something with high quality screws. If the screws shear under recoil, the dot will fly right off.

I have the Holosun 507k on my P365. I really like it but it was my first red dot I’ve had on a pistol so I don’t have anything to compare it to. It was also a direct fit, but looks like you’d need an adapter plate for the APX.

Same but I have it on my CZ P07. It was also my first. I do really like it but it sure does take some practicing to be able to find it when presenting the pistol. I assume this is the case with any dot when using for the first time.

I cannot complain about my Holosun EPS carry. I have open emitter dots on another pistol and as a secondary sight on an AR. They have never given me issues where they aren't able to be used due to lint/dust/etc., but I do have to clean them out every once in a while. The closed emitter is much nicer to deal with when carrying daily. Just a quick wipe compared to fishing out lint with a q-tip or something.

I bought a vortex red dot for a Glock and really like it. I had to add a plate so it sits a little high but it’s not a concealed carry gun. I’d go with vortex.

Have heard good things about them. But that battery compartment is
if that's the one I'm thinking of.

I went with a Holosun 407kx2 on a handgun.
Shake awake is helpful. Easy battery change. And works well with good battery life.
But you need to decide on the reticle style.
Simple dots are fine for me, but some people prefer others.

Go to MidwayUSA, they are having a massive sale on their Holosun & Vortex red & green dots.
Another new optic company called Osprey Optics makes good quality optics.

I have the EPS carry MRS. I took it off since I’m still practicing with the iron sites on the x macro comp. Maybe after another 250 rounds I’ll get a bore site and install it again. Green dot 2 MOA Dot & 32 MOA Circle.
