A fine introduction to Michael Brooks for anyone who has never had the pleasure!

"LSU now 4-1 and #16 in the country. Have a feeling this will be the year we finally beat Alabama in Tiger Stadium."

Edited for the slower among us

Nope. Bama game that year was a 14-14 tie. Ronnie Lewis missed a 19-yard FG that would have won it and then flipped off the fans. It was a 2:30 game on ABC with Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles.

LSU didn’t beat Bama in Tiger Stadium til 2000.

Durr. That post is from the perspective of someone posting on the Rant who just watched the Kentucky game live.

I haven’t watched that bama game, on my list.

Was Wickersham hot garbage on that day too?

But how bad was Wickeraham in this game.

I was there as a student - good thing I was too drunk at the time to understand what I was watching…LOL

Dude

I tell you what.

Modern era lsu fans think they know something about a pitiful offense and talent wasted all over the field

It’s in our football heritage I’m afraid

I've hung out with Ronnie a few times over the years. He's a quiet guy. He has some funny stories about Brooks and Andolsek. Him and his wife were at a party about 5 years ago that I was at. She asked if I was an LSU fan. Told her, yep, that I was the only person in the room who actually saw him kick at LSU. She laughed. Then she mentioned the miss kick. I let it die. No reason to rub salt in the wound.

Offense was just about the same against Baylor in the bowl game that season. 0 points. Only Norman Jefferson scored on a punt return. Shutout against Florida that season as well, 20-0. Highlight of the season was a win at Notre dame 10-6.

Ronnie told me they had to do their walkthrough/practice before the game on concrete at Dame. He said it's one of the most overrated venues.
