Anthony Geary, Luke Spencer on ‘General Hospital,’ Dies at 78
One-half of the ultimate soap supercouple with Genie Francis, he won a record eight Daytime Emmys and starred on the ABC daytime drama over a 40-year span.
Had no idea he was raised Mormon. And that he was gay.
RIP.

I was not a Luke & Laura fan, but it was such a huge thing. They had their own song (by Christopher Cross) and the whole story lasted forever, it seemed. Everyone ran home to watch their VCR-recorded daily episode.

I had no idea he was gay either. I looked up his old storyline with Genie Francis. His character raped her character. Their characters eventually fell in love and got married.

Like cabbage patch kids. Those of us that lived in that era went “How long will I have to hear about this shite?”
The most interesting them about them was how Jonathan Frakes basically saved Francis from the life of a Hollywood cokehead starlet when he married her. She says he basically saved her.
