My power was out and reported for 3 hours before Entergy shows up

One of the coldest days of the year and power goes out for my hood at 6:10. I'm up and use the app to report it right away. 459 people affected. Entergy sends update at 9:05 that a crew finally arrived to the damaged power pole.
3 hours to finally show up and assess the damage on one of the coldest days of the year is unacceptable. Now the power will be off until 12 at the earliest they said.
I wish we had options in Louisiana.

What if they had other power outages or issues they were dealing with and they couldn’t get to yours right away ?

Mine was out on three separate occasions last night. An hour or two each episode.

The map showed my area as being the only outage they had

Generators are needed with Entergy. We have power issues all the time too. Every time the wind blows we seem to lose power.

Frankly, it's been one of the best decisions I've ever made.

What was it below freezing for 5 hours? I think you'll be okay boo. Start a fire

Interesting story.
In your mind, what would the acceptable response time be for a non-emergency situation like this?
And are you aware of other possible outages in the area that may have been reported before yours that may have been more impactful?
Yes, it was / is cold outside. Are you living outside though? If the power goes out at the lowest temp of the day and you are in a heated and insulated home, how long do you think that it would take to make your house dangerously cold?

Option....it's called whole house generator. Can't imagine living in Louisiana ..... especially South Louisiana... without one.

Wow, this is some 1st world level shite here.

Yea I put off a generator because I'm afraid I'll need a monster to run everything. I have 12 tons of ACs. Not sure what size generator I need.

Do you think that the only thing that Entergy crews do on any given day is respond to outages?

News to me.

I understand that, but that’s why I said outages or issues.
I mean it definitely sucks, but I don’t know if they have people on standby 24 hours a day for surprise outages.

Outages are priority. Especially in freezing temps.

Stout builds section 8 housing as cheap as possible and runs a slum operation and has the balls to come here and bitch because his power was out for a couple of hours
While intentionally selling piece of shite houses that will fall apart

Out of power 3 hours and not even any snow or ice outside? What ever will you do?
