I’ll slot Mendoza slightly above Crouch and Troy Smith

What a lame Heisman winner and field overall. He’ll only be remembered for his lameness.
Not hating the guy personally, he seems like a great guy. But damn, what a lame field and winner this year

I don’t think too many folks thought much of Baker Mayfield’s pro prospects either.

I’m good as long as it wasn’t Pavia. I saw Mendoza make exactly one throw this year (3rd down to clinch big 10 last weekend), but it looked fluid and he’s tall.

He had a good speech. lol

Which QBs are you drafting ahead of him?

I’m not talking pro prospects I’m just talking college stats
Mendoza
2980, 33 tds, 6 picks
Troy Smith - widely regarded a horrible heisman winner
2542, 30 tds, 6 picks…freaking 19 years ago when offenses sucked
That’s why I slot him slightly higher, maybe we’ve been spoiled. I’m just used to seeing a Heisman winner QB go for 4,000 yards and 40 tds these days

What does the Heisman have to do with drafting? Look at my post above against Troy Smith’s stats

I do notice you didn’t specifically reference professional prospects. Just a side note of possible interest. I think obviously the team he plays for weighs heavily on opinions of him (historically speaking), as well as comparatively “weak” field of contenders. It’s just a tough call this season for a few reasons.

It was a terrible field this year. No one had that "Heisman moment". Mendoza is a terrible Heisman winner, but seemingly a good guy, so happy for him.

Nothing about his stat line is impressive.

Pavia should've won but being a GIGANTIC douchebag killed his chances.

Yea, I thought Pavia should've won as well. After seeing him and his brothers walk in, I'm actually glad he didn't.
Could you imagine that douchebag if he had also won the Heisman?

I believe that was more of a operation of a few unique factors coming together, one being Cleveland having the first pick and in need of a “franchise” quarterback; in addition to the label of being a Heisman winner. Essentially it was foregone conclusion that they must make that selection without even thinking about it. I think it’s reasonable to recollect that at the time there wasn’t exactly a overall feeling about that scenario that precisely matched what it looked like on paper. But I have no problem if you or someone else were to correct me and say the hype matched what one would normally expect in the situation of a generational Heisman winning franchise talent.

Baker wasn't a run away no doubt 1st overall, Darnold was in the mix too, but it wasn't like he was freefalling if they passed on him. He still was highly thought of and a top 5 lock.

Well sure. You’d have a riot on your hands if your qb spot wasn’t concrete and you passed on the Heisman winning qb. But I do get your point.

Cool. Take a pass on it. No problem. This is America, amirite? Poster immediately before you didn’t seem to have an issue with acknowledging the point, although voicing disagreement. Very quickly and courteously too, I might add. Just as an aside.

Dude only took snaps in the 4th quarter in like 4 or 5 games lol.
He led the nation in touchdowns and wasn’t even in the top 10 in passing attempts.

I’ll slot your mom just above the street walking whore that offers $5 bjs.
