Does the Vatican try to influence South American politics?

I’m Catholic, but I struggle with why the church doesn’t put its foot on the scale in Latin America while scorning the US for closing its borders.

Didn't the Pope spend most of his adult life in Peru or Ecuador?

It would make sense to do so since the Vatican is a country, but, how would we know what they say to try to influence South American political leaders?

I don’t know or have ever really though about any of the details but I think it would be safe to say they try to influence politics wherever they can afford to

The Pope literally said a few weeks ago that the US and every sovereign country has a right to determine who, how and how often people migrate to it.
The Church has issued warnings and calls to end violence and harm from the coyotes and others involved with Latin America migration to the US.
The other side of the coin is how do we treat families who have already migrated. The Church will always prioritize the family, so when it sees families being torn apart as part of deportation it will call for either the whole family to deport or the whole family to stay.
None of this is simple given the political and economic incentives of the nations involved.

The Catholic Church paired up with leftist socialist a long long long time ago. They don't help how you want OP, because they are apart of the destruction that has become of Latin America.

In the Gospel read today at mass, John the Baptist said the priest of his day were a Brood of vipers. Nothing has changed in 2000 years.
After the Gospel was read i had to listen to the priest give a political homily (about immigration) while at the same time telling me not to be political. LMAO. I got up and walked out.
Same parish two weeks ago subjected me to a speech from a Catholic charity that told me one of the reasons for hunger in this country was due to racism against black and brown people.
Apparently there are no hungry white people in this country.
Yes, the speaker was a Liberal White Woman.
