Is it just me or did others notice the lack of mention of this tragic event today? I thought the history channel would show something related but I don't see anything.

If the same event happened today the left would probably side with the Japanese and say we provoked them.

I haven’t heard anything, it’s pathetic.

I like to remember CNN covering the 50th anniversary, where they interviewed a Japanese guy who was... a Hiroshima survivor.

That's right, instead of telling about Japanese treachery and the sneak attack, they tried to guilt trip Americans over the bomb that ended the war.

never change CNN, never change

It was a long time ago. I’m not really surprised. When I was growing up everyone’s grandfathers had fought in the war. WWII is like 4 or 5 generations removed from a lot of Americans these days. The cultural memory of it is fading.

Just look at the losers who think dropping the bomb was wrong.

I'm glad liberals remember slavery though

Cnn had an article on the front page discussing how this is the first ever year that there has not been a Pearl Harbor survivor in attendance at the remembrance in Hawaii.

There are reasonable arguments on both sides of that issue. I understand why the bombs were dropped. I’m also damn glad I wasn’t the one who had to make that decision.

It's depressing to see such little attention given to such a moment in the history and molding of this country.
No shortage of TDS attention though.
Today also marks the 39th RIP Day of my grandfather that proudly served in the Air Force.

This is fascinating hearing the voices announcing the attack from 84 years ago.

it also wasn’t British so maybe don’t denigrate the loss of the brave Americans who died there with faggy King’s English.

Lighten up Francis...Blame Sergey and his Google autocorrect.

My grandpa was on the USS San Francisco at Pearl, Guadalcanal and some other good ones in the South Pacific. He was a dentist, which at Guadalcanal probably meant he patched up his buddies that were injured when the plane hit it. My regret is 10-12 yr old me didn't ask him more questions.

We will remember until the sea gives up her dead.
My Uncle Steve, my Mom’s sister’s husband, was dockside receiving and checking in containers of provisions when the explosion blew him out of his senses, off his feet, and into a bunch of crates and gear.

RIP Uncle Steve and Aunt Leona.
