I know this is an unpopular opinion for sure. Baker is a fine coach and his defense kept us in a couple of games, but I didn't think they played well or looked prepared at all against Ole Miss, Vandy or A&M (all of whom are ranked in the top 20 in total offense).

The only offense they played well that was ranked in the top 20 is Arkansas, who is currently sitting at 2-10 with no conference wins.

Outside of those teams, he didn't face an offense that finished better than 49th in total offense (La Tech, Oklahoma, Florida, SC all finished 86th or worse).

I understand our offense is awful, but Vandy had 6 possessions through three quarters and scored on 5 of them.

Excluding end of half kneeldowns, A&M's drive chart since Marcel Reed entered the game dating back to last year goes like this:

TD
TD
TD
TD
FG
TD
TD
Safety
INT
INT
TD
TD
TD
Punt
TD

(73 points allowed with 4 total stops).

I'm just not sure I would throw a bunch of money at him to beg him to stay.

They were top 25 in total defense, but how much of that is due to the majority of the offenses that we played?

You do realize that against Ole Miss, Vandy and A&M we gave up 480,399 and 426 total yards, respectively? Allowing them to convert third downs 54% of the time?

I'll give you the Bama game. I thought they played lights out albeit Bama isn't an offensive juggernaut.

And we win 2 of those 3 games if we have an offense.

First, a top 20 offense is a top 20 offense for a reason. Not many people are stopping them.

Second, when your defense is on the field constantly, usually with bad field position, because the offense is absolute dog shite, it puts a hell of a lot more pressure on the defense.

Im sure Kiffin will find a good DC if Baker leaves, but make no mistake about it we are losing a good DC if Baker leaves.

That a&m game and vandy game was enough evidence. We all saw it. These guys are geeked out we held a terrible Oklahoma offense to 17 points and don’t forget that amazing second half against Western Kentucky! Any offense with a pulse LSU was skull dragged.

We gave up an average of 35 points to those 3 teams. That would be ranked close to dead last in CFB if going by points allowed.

Also, in those 28 combined total drives, we stopped them 13 times and they scored on the other 15 (13 TDs and 2 FGs).

Well you’re a dumbass. The defense does get tired when they’re constantly on the field. With even a competent offense, this defense would be elite. Too many three and outs from Sloan, Nuss, Oline, and this horrible scheme.

Good thing there are more than 3 games in a season, huh?

How'd other teams do against those teams? And do we factor in the team basically quitting on bitch boy BK?

Yes, let's look at what OM and Vandy averaged and then what we held them to.

Ole Miss averaged almost 38 a game. Vandy almost 40. I'd say what the defense did against those teams was pretty fricking impressive given the shite offense they had to prop up.

The offense isn't helping matters at all. But the defense gave up TDs on the first two drives to Vandy and A&M and I am assuming most players are pretty fresh to start the game.

Again, I'm not saying he's a bad coach, Baker's defenses stat padded against a lot of terrible offensive teams this year.

It's the same syndrome with Nussmeier heading into this season.

7th According to ESPN's FPI
9th according to ESPN SP+
10th in Stop Rate (% of drives that end in points)

And this was missing the defenses #1 player in Weeks for most of the season.

Ok. Care to tell us the reason the aTm was even a competitive game at the end of the first half???

If you just cherry pick games, drives, or certain stats to pick out, you will always find the answer you are looking for.
