Last night we had breakfast for dinner which isn't unusual at least one night a week.

What was different was that we had some Texas Toast bread left from last week's "After Thanksgiving Day Sandwich".

So I made Texas Toast Pain Perdu Waffles with the bread along with cheese omelets and bacon.

Also had toasted pecans on the waffles.

The waffled pain perdu was amazing! Like a cross between Belgian waffles and French toast.

The omelet was pretty darn good too!

Looks delicious! I melt vanilla ice cream then soak the bread then into a hot skillet, good stuff.

I tried this with Blue Bell Coffee ice cream last week and it was awesome. Just beat an egg or two, add a scoop of blue bell and mix that up in lieu of adding milk or cream, briefly plop your bread in on both sides, then it going onto the very hot skillet with clarified butter. I'll post pics next time.

Just powdered sugar, blueberries and a little maple syrup if you want.

Had a couple of those Texas Toast Pain Perdu Waffles left in the fridge. Popped them in the toaster, added a lil butter and powdered sugar on one and whipped cream on the other. With a hot cup of coffee it was a treat this morning!
