Not enough time to look back at OM schedules, but has LK coached against a very strong OOC team in Wk 1 while he was at OM? If so, how'd they do?

ETA: They did play Tulane this year, so I guess they accidentally wound up with a good OOC opponent. Tulane was 1-7 in the AAC when they signed the contract.
ETA2: They had to play 6-6 Wazzou OOC this year because 4-8 Wake Forest cancelled on them. That is the story of OM scheduling. I don’t know if there’s a single team in the SEC that consistently schedules worse OOC opponents than Ole Miss.

Ole Miss usually played one of the weaker OOC schedules in the country. Their "big" OOC games over the last few years were Tulane, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech

I couldnt remember if they had any of the marquee, or second tier, opening weekend games, i.e. playing NC State or Baylor or something similar. Hope he's got the team ready to fire on all cylinders straight out of the gate!

Yeah no. They don’t have any marquee OOC opponents at all, much less in openers.
This year they opened with a 0-11 Sun Belt team.
Last year it was a 3-8 FCS team.
The year before that it was a 9-4 FCS team.
Their toughest OOC opener during Lane’s tenure was Troy.
This is more of a knock on Ole Miss than Lane. Most of their “big” (lol) OOC games were scheduled before Lane even arrived. But Lane is absolutely about to face a tougher annual slate of opponents than he did at Ole Miss.
