2014. Jake Waters was QB.
Auburn won 20-14. I was in the south end zone. K-State shot themselves in the foot several times.

was it retire or "retire"?
I wanted Klieman before we hired Joe Moorhead. We beat Kstate in Manhattan in 2018 and then Klieman was hired and he came to Starkville in '19 and he had that Kstate team out physical us that day.

At 11-1 and an offense ranked inside the top 20 in most major statistics, if any of them are unhappy with him, I’d liken them to the same caliber of fan upset with Blake Baker’s defense.

Probably a conversation that ended with an honorable departure as being the best route for Klieman.
He was trending the way of Mike Gundy, and rather than fall that hard, just go out with some dignity.
It’s a young man’s game anymore, and I think the portal and NIL has driven a lot of the old heads either away from coaching or into a downward spiral.
