I have seen this kid play live. He played our local hs team this year. Good arm and mobile, not a runner, but mobile. Needs development, think he has only been a starter for 1 year. He is a 3 star but comes from Westlake, which is a bad arse program. We could use a qb in our class and I trust Lane's judgement on QB.

I had no clue who the QB was at Westlake until today and I'm at their sports rehab place twice a week.
Looks like they went 7-4 on the year with close losses and massive, blowout wins. May have inflated his stats a bit. Kiffin clearly liked him enough to recruit him to Ole Miss though.

The way he moves and throws reminds me of Matt Corral. Who ended up being a pretty good college qb.

I have a partner/friend in Austin whose son was a qb at Westlake and went on to have a very successful college and nfl career. Westlake is the biggest qb factory in the country. He told me Rees will be one of the best from there, fast and a good arm.
Rees is in Texas's backyard and most kids from Westlake want to go to UT. The fact UT didn't offer Rees might just be because they have a 5 star qb in their 2026 class. My buddy is very high on Wise.
