Aka just another national title winning coach
I think we are in a unique position that we have 4 national title winning coaches and yet none of them are viewed in the same light as Saban/Bryant at Alabama, Bowden at FSU, or Beamer at Va Tech.
They all have asterisks. Saban left and ended up at Alabama. Les overstayed, got fired, had wins vacated. O threw in the towel after orchestrating tGoat regular season.
If Kiffin stays here 10-12 years, wins 2-3 nattys, becomes a playoff regular, and leaves on good terms, he will probably have an office in the football ops building like Saban has at Bama whens its all done

It's a mistake to look for a football coach in the same way you'd look for a spouse, IMO. I don't care, nor do I expect, a coach to bleed purple and gold like us fans/alum do. It's a business transaction, nothing more, nothing less, and hopefully a beneficial one for both parties.

Because Ole Miss’ ceiling is our expectation.

Because they're stupid and honestly just say random shite if it fits their narrative.
Yeah, Lane got ole miss to a good place. But he had to go salvaging the portal every year and that weighs on you and isn't a longterm solution.
He will absolutely have an easier road to churn out consistently good teams by locking down the state of LA, dipping into Texas (which he was not doing at ole miss) and then finding some pieces in the portal to make it all work.
Anything Kiffin has done at ole miss he can do at LSU x 10.

They think he can win, they just don’t want him to win here. So they say he can’t, until he does. Then it’ll be yeah well he’s gonna leave you just like he left us. Blah blah blah.
I honestly think this could be lanes last stop. His mentor just told him that it was the best job in the country and he wishes he had never left.
Ain’t nobody ever saying that about ole miss. Sorry, not sorry.
