With a year of experience under his belt, JL can mentor RS.

if RS turns out to be the next McNabb, tiger nation can thank JL.

JL will only be a sophomore. He better more concerned with competing for the job than grooming some freshman who is only 1 year behind him eligibility-wise.

I don't mean to be captain obvious, but....

Mcnabb - 6'2" 240# pocket passer, limited mobility

Shepard - 6'1" 179# very mobile

Sounds like the next Mcnabb to me.

How about we let the LSU coaching staff mentor all of our QBs. None of the qbs have enough expirence to mentor, maybe give some advise on what to expect. All The LSU qbs have talent, whoever works the hardest will see the field, let's leave all the mentoring to the coaches.

As long as he tells Shepard to look off his first receiver, I'm good with it.

No offense to JL but I don't want him ANYWHERE NEAR RS.

on the field, Mick Vick would probably be a much better comparison at this point style wise to RS. JJ will start over both of them at QB anyway IMO.

Why in the HELL would you want Mr. Pick 6 himself, for a mentor?

Obviously you’re insinuating JL is done as a player because he sucks so bad, so he can just mentor RS. Given your thinking, if you think he sucks that bad, why would you want him teaching anybody anything?

Bottom line is JL is not done competing for the starting job and I would guess the coaches feel the same way. All those that claim they “know” JL, RS or JJ will be the starter and will be the greatest QB ever, has no more certainty of that then of what the winning powerball numbers will be this weekend. No one including the coaches know who will definitely start must less be the “next great QB”. There’s a long spring, summer and fall to go before they make that decision.

I will trust the coaches, support whoever wins the starting job, and hope whoever wins the starting job plays so well, that none of the other QB’s see the field.

This may be one of the stupidest things I have heard on here. If any qb were to mentor RS it would be JJ IMO. Where the hell did you come up with this? It makes sense since JL and RS have similar styles
