Most fans worrying about LSU spending $91 million on Lane Kiffin is like stressing about what your neighbor spends on a yacht — it’s not your yacht, it’s not your money, and you’re not invited to drive it anyway. The school and its boosters are playing with SEC-sized wallets, and if they want to drop a small fortune to chase titles, that’s their business. You’re not writing the checks, you’re not negotiating the contract, you’re not losing sleep over the buyout, so why pretend like you’re financially involved?

LSU spending big is a sign they’re serious about winning, not a reason for everyday fans to panic.
You don’t get a discount on beer if they save money, and your Saturday doesn’t get more fun when the coach is cheaper. You either want championships or you want coupons. you can’t have both.

Sit back, crack a beer, and enjoy the show. Let rich people stress about rich-people decisions.

you aren't wrong but i don't think its wrong to just completely dismiss people's thoughts on the values that we are getting out of said contracts to the monies wasted in buyouts etc even when its not our monies.

when you have season ticket holders getting tickets continuously raised (times we live in), i think its fair for some common folk to express their feelings on how its perceived money is constantly spent and often wasted.

but i do think you have a solid point for fans. don't worry about what you aren't even bothered by. to a point.

Season tickets and concession prices etc will continue to rise no matter what we pay for coaches.

It still seems crazy to me to spend this kind of money on a coach who hasn’t accomplished much outside of regular season wins and whose success is largely based on hype. Again, I have no problem with paying a good salary, but making him the highest-paid is hard to wrap my head around.

Which is a separate issue?

Living expenses continue to grow up all the time

LSU needs to invest in hotels and bars near the stadium

I need to get with the golf carts on campus
