Today is the 1st day of Advent, the leadup to Christmas and also the start of the new liturgical year in The Church.

This year is Year "A", which focuses on the Matthew's Gospel and is the 1st year of our 3 year trek through the entire Bible.

Merry Christmas, baws.

Merry Christmas!

The readings at today's mass were the following:

Isaiah 2:1-5
Psalm 122
Romans 13:11-14
Matthew 24:36-44

A little more than that. There are Holy Days of Obligation.

They skip over some passages, especially Book of Lists type stuff like the family trees in Chronicles.

Felt good to have the new, crisp missalette book on Sunday.

Mark is the focus of Year "B".

Luke is the focus of Year "C"

John is read during the Christmas and Easter seasons and on feast days.
