This feels a lot better than the Brian Kelly hire.

I was very hopeful with the BK hire. Thought it was nice to have "an adult" finally leading the program, and questions about BK's age were pushed aside because this would be the place where he could finally seriously compete for a championship. I thought he was still hungry for that.
This feels like something different entirely. We're not just settling on "an adult," we've hired one of the best offensive minds college football has to offer, and we will finally be able to make use of the Beckham/Landry/Nabers/BTJ talent we regularly attract here. This has true dynasty potential. Feels good.

I mean LSU had the best offense in the nation with Daniels and won nothing.
Offense hasn’t been the problem. It’s been teams that are soft. And Ole Miss and Kiffin ball is the very definition of soft

He’s younger, energetic and knows how to beat teams LSU will have on their schedule.
He may be toxic, but LSU and Kiffin are the toxic relationship college football needs.

I thought Kelly was a great hire. Who here guessed he’d mail it in after a couple of years?

Actually… it was the glaring problem why LSU paid $54m+ to get rid of the winningest active head coach. If LSU had an offense this year, they’re in the playoffs.

Baker will fix that once he's able to use the recruiting cycle/portal. He already improved the d in his first year here. And when he does...the offense goes to shite. Kiffin should solve that. Good proven coaching on both sides of the ball now....

He’ll be 51 years old when he coaches his first game at LSU. Since when is that young?

That's fair, but to me it felt like a fluke. Lightning in a bottle because you were able to keep Daniels and retain Denbrock.
The difference with Kiffin and Kelly is that Kiffin will have the offense locked down nearly every year, whereas with Kelly, you had to hope the stars aligned and we had the right OC and DC at the same time.

At least Kiffin is tall enough to ride the rides at Dixie Landin'

Well he’s 14 years younger than the coach LSU just fired.

Should have hired Kiffin last hiring cycle instead of BK.

LSU and Kiffin are the Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of college football. The Toxic Twins.

I was cautious but happy at the time. Kelly seemed to be serious type that we needed biggly.. His age though concerned me. I just didn't think he was the quit and give up type. I thought though he wanted to win a NC in his coaching career. Instead, he just wanted to golf and create excuses at press conferences on terrible loses.
Lane seems full of pep and energy. I know he may bolt us in 3-4 years but in that time span, he can get LSU in the playoffs as well as a NC victory. Hopefully though he is done being a gypsy and going all over the place.

Perfect age for an LSU head coach. Unless you want to go the route of a coach in his thirties. And that coach would probably come from a school like tulane or Memphis with no experience from a major program. Just ask Arkansas fans how they feel right now. I'll save you the trouble. They are pissed and know they are in big trouble.
