Looking for a place to stay for a night in Covington or Mandeville with my wife the week before Christmas.

We’ve stayed at Southern Hotel before, not opposed to staying again but looking for something different. Even a B&B if they accommodate for single nights. Things to do within walking distance, and Christmas atmosphere are a plus.

Came across de la Bleau B&B in my searches, so maybe that’s a possibility? Any other unique places?

stay at the southern. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, music, coffee, beer, etc. the town will be lit up and very festive

we stay there often and we live in Hammond LOL

For a B n B, The Blue Willow was nice. It is literally a block away from the Southern Hotel.

It was purchased not too long ago, and is under new ownership.

I’m not sure of its name now.

Here is a link to the (former) Blue Willows website, so you will have an idea as to what it could be:

I went the other night.

The steak appetizers (egg rolls?) were excellent.

The filet medallions (for two) were okay, but not great.

The fish special, however, was excellent.

Desert was Bananas Foster’s tarts (and they were superb).

I almost ordered the duck instead of the filet medallions (which I shared with my wife). I will order the duck next time I go.

In short, it was an enjoyable meal with excellent service.

I’ll get that next time.

NGL, the filet medallions dented what was an excellent meal otherwise.

Again, the meal (and service) was worthy of a return visit.

If I had to stay at a hotel on the Northshore , it would be the Southern. I can’t think of anything else that comes close.

The southern where I usually stay in Covington was fully booked last time I went for a night, stayed at the Lacroix luxe landing I found on Airbnb right around the corner.
Was perfect for one night and could walk everywhere
