I was around for the Archer/Hallman years, getting a winning coach was truly exciting because we all knew what LSU could be and Gerry put us back on the map.

We didn't know what we were getting in Saban, and we'd beaten him in a bowl game. Looking back.....oh well.

Les was a consolation prize, we were still stung by Saban.

Coach O, I love the man, but I knew how it would end.

I hated the Brian Kelly hire from the jump. He was an underachieving a-hole who only got noticed because of Notre Dame.

I felt sorry for Archer and Hallman, but didn't hate them. Saban,,,,oh Saban.

O and Les were lovable cartoon characters.

frick Brian Kelly, I legitimately hate him.

BUT NOW.....WE CAN HAVE A REAL CHANCE TO BE LSU AGAIN!!!!

I was around in those days as well but I was seriously disappointed in DiNardo being hired.

I’m pretty sure Gerry didn’t have a winning season at Vandy. I think he got to 5-6 one year. Just saying.

Kelly was probably the most excited I’ve been (Dinardo is the first hire I remember). O was the least excited/ damn near caused me to melt lol

ETA
In 4 years at Vandy, Gerry went 5-6 three times and 4-7 once

As someone who lived through that era, no one was excited about DiNardo

I stand corrected, and let me better clarify: I was excited for anyone whose name wasn't Curley Hallman.

I’m more relieved than excited. I
Was afraid we might end up with worse than kiffin. Time will tell with him, but at least we know he’s capable of competing in the transfer/NIL world. So the 6-6/7-5 seasons should remain our floor.
