If tweet fails to load, click here. I came across this X Poster this weekend and I must confess, I had never heard of Green on Blue. (Which I now understand to be situations where “allies” who were interpreters or other support, essentially either attacked or assisted in attacks on our soldiers). I read this thread for hours, and found myself googling military and war on terror acronyms to wrap my head around trying to understand why we decided to import that shite here. Just why?
Neither had I heard about this wide-scale Afghani boy sex trade horror, which per this guy is so widespread there’s a “cultural” name for it (that I refuse to commit to memory).
Is this bullshite? Am I taken in by internet propaganda?
These are genuinely sincere questions I feel that it is my duty as an American to understand the answers, so that I can know and do my part to make sure this cycle of never ending wars is broken, and that I can do my part for standing in true support of what our servicemen endured.
Reference to other reliable sources of info/ books/documentaries would also be appreciated.
Respectfully,
Wednesday
(Total white girl, civilian who wouldn’t last 30 seconds in a warzone and admires our soldiers beyond all reason).

Judging from reports of our soldiers engaging with Afghanistan men buggering little boys. It sounds like our lawyers took the side of the locals over our own.
Complete madness
Complete madness

Descent into hell for our guys. Prayers for them daily. I can’t even imagine trying to untangle all this once returning home. Then to have all that metastasize here; heart wrenching

It was real, I know a couple guys who were there(Blue). In some cases they(Green) hated the US, in some cases their families were threatened.

That one no idea, but the Green on Blue was extremely real.

I read it. A Thousand Splendid Suns was even worse.
I will probably re-read them, now that I’m in this rabbit hole.
It just horrifies me that our government witnessed this whole green on blue situation, and then imported it here.

Listened to several podcasts with former spec ops guys, including Rogan and Ryan, and this was discussed at length. Short story, the men would keep young boys with them and use them as they pleased as sex play things. It’s common, wide spread and acceptable to those people. They are fricking animals. The army refused to address it and not sure they could have.

Yeah Rogan had a guy on that talked about seeing it first hand. Guy tells a story about seeing a truck driver with his son and had to be corrected that was not his son but in fact his pet boy.

I read a book about Alexander the Great and he said that Afghanistan was the a-hole of the world and marched his army right out of there. Didn't want to conquer it, own it, tax it, or have anything to do with it.
Maybe we should have followed his course.

Not really a knock on our society but so many believe the rest of the world is like it is in the US or that the populace of these shiteholes wants their lives to be like life in the US…. It is hard to comprehend because who wouldn’t want “freedom”, right?
Well, they are shiteholes for a reason and it is NOT because of their location on the globe but what the populace has created and/or allowed to be created over time…. It is their norm…
We spent so much blood and capital in that shitehole trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shite it is honestly unbelievable…. It should have been a get in, get the job done and GTFO instead of an exercise in nation building….
Long way around to say: the populace could not be trusted and the stories about the man boy love were well verified and a blind eye was turned on the practice…

I had to deal with (give money to) elders in two provinces. Once they got comfortable with you being around they would let things slip.
Its a disgusting culture. Little boys are for sex and women are for having children.
They knew we didnt approve and I never saw a small boy when we went for a Shura/meeting. In fact, especially in rural areas, the Afghans did not want their children anywhere near Americans. In Iraq we gave kids MREs, candy shite like that. In Afghanistan the children stayed away.
Everybody knew it was part of their culture. There was a joke about man/boy love Thursday. After a certain time on Thursdays you never could find an ANA officer of any rank. Supposedly that was little boy day.

Little boys are for fun women are for breeding is all over the Persian Gulf.

Nobody did it like the Afghans though.
In Iraq and Syria you saw families, nuclear families Mom Dad kids. In Afghanistan there really werent nuclear families, there were family groups but Mom Dad kids seemed rare.
I'm sure it was better in the cities but in the sticks it was weird.

There’s a completely bonkers documentary called the dancing boys of Afghanistan. If I recall correctly the comments section was even crazier.

Once we lost the thread on Bin Laden we should have 'installed' a tourism office, at most, so people could come see the ruins, and gotten the hell out of Dodge.

I know I'm going to regret it but what the hell happens to them... you know when/if they grow up.

Well in the UAE they bought young boys by the plane load. They were jockeys house boys etc. Worked the camel races etc. The camel race facilities had bedrooms.
The prettier boys were fed puberty blockers like the jockeys.
When they no longer could be medicated to stay small they would simply load a few up and drive out into the desert and kick them out.
The ones who survived and made it back to the outskirts of Dubai or Abu Dhabi lived in cardboard and plywood shacks cities trying to survive. Mostly as cheap prostitutes.
The Qataris and UAE camel racing organizers got enough political heat from outside the country they suddenly came up with a brilliant drone style jockey.

It depends but many grow up and keep the cycle going…. Afghanistan is an evil, evil place…. Liberals act like “we” broke the country but that place was busted long before we got there…
As others have mentioned the man/boy love happens all over the gulf it is just more rampant in some places than others…. Afghanistan was the worst I saw, it is common in Iraq, Egypt, Syria, and even Saudi Arabia…. Some of the more “refined” countries the market is huge for a fresh boy and sex tourism abounds …
Quite simply Islam is a disgusting religion and the folks in that area of the world are some of the most disgusting people I have ever encountered…
