I saw a sign in front of an Ace hardware "oil less turkey fryers".... How do you fry without oil ?

My brother has one and we have used it for turkeys the last 2 years. The turkey comes out very moist and juicy - like if you fried it.

Heard of this but, as with most subjects, I know nothing about it. Just sounds wrong, though....

It's an infrared cooker.
We need Alton Brown to prove/disprove this theory of oiless frying is as good as the real thing.
Until then, I'm going to keep on frying.

I know it is actually a roaster, but it does a really good job. Beside the turkey cooking, ribeye roast, etc, are excellent !!

I used one twice and wasnt that thrilled about it. Frying comes out much better.

I have both fried and done the oiless frying. I thought the oiless frying was just as good.

Char Broil makes one called The Big Easy. There is a video of it on their website.

Isn't oil-less and frying kinda mutually exclusive terms? Like honest Democrat, soft po'boy bread, tolerable Aggie, sophisticated Alabaman.
Can it be fried with no oil? Don't think so.
